Microblading: Why It’s Becoming Increasingly Popular
Arched or curved, feathered or bold—eyebrows are one of the most defining facial features. Eyebrows can make or break your entire look. But alas, not everyone is blessed with perfect, on-fleek eyebrows.
If you’re not satisfied with the pair you have, fortunately, there are a number of options you can try to upgrade their appearance. While many use cosmetic products such as brow gels and eyebrow pencils to fill in their eyebrows, it’s natural to want more permanent results. Microblading offers just that.
Microblading, or eyebrow embroidery as it’s so aptly called, has become an emerging popular trend in the beauty business. Microblading is infinitely more natural looking than other options. The process involves embroidering strokes on your brows to give them the appearance of real hair.
What Is Microblading?
Microblading is a treatment of cosmetic tattooing in which an aesthetician uses tiny blades (microblades) to embed pigment under the skin of the eyebrows. It results in defined and fuller looking eyebrows. It can also be used to enhance or alter the shape of your eyebrows.
Microblading is done through manual blading in order to make sharp and precise hair-like strokes. Using a precision hand-held tool, usually a bladed pen, the microblading expert meticulously draws on each stroke of hair. This is why the results look really natural and realistic.
Also referred to as 3D eyebrow tattooing, the results of microblading usually last from 3 to 5 years before it starts fading. A touch up is then required for upkeep.
How Does It Work?
Unlike traditional tattooing, micorblading uses specially created ink that’s inserted into the skin. The pigments are usually mineral-based keeping in mind the safety and sensitivity of facial skin.
Prior to starting the actual microblading procedure, the aesthetician will measure your face and decide what will suit you best, according to your face shape. They will then draw and fill in the brows and embed the pigment within that stencil. The process usually takes between one and a half to two hours, after which a final touch up is required in order to get your desired look.
Why Has It Become So Popular?
Imagine waking up with on-fleek eyebrows every day without putting in any effort. Micorblading helps you achieve that. Making your eyebrows camera-ready at all times, microblading is increasingly becoming popular among people for the ease and convenience it offers.
Microblading also offers amazingly realistic results. The pigment doesn’t look like it’s tattooed onto the skin. It actually gives off a very natural, feathered appearance. Plus, fuller brows are all the rage these days and those who’re not naturally gifted with perfect brows can give microblading a try.
