6 Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:

  • Save Time: Each laser hair removal appointment is fast and efficient, plus you don’t have to spend time shaving every day since the results are permanent.

  • Save Money: When you opt for laser hair removal, you will no longer need to spend money on regular wax treatments, razors, or other hair removal methods. While it may cost more up front, you will save a huge amount of money in the long run, as well as a great deal of time that would otherwise be spent shaving or waxing.

  • No Hair Growth Needed Between Sessions: Unlike that awkward, embarrassing phase of having to let the hair grow out to prep for the next wax, laser hair removal can be carried out even if your hair is very short. That means you won’t have to wait for your hair to grow between treatments and you can stay hair-free permanently!

  • No More Ingrown Hairs: Ingrown hairs commonly show up in areas of the body that have been shaved or waxed. Laser treatments can significantly reduce the occurrence of those pesky bumps. Plus, it’s great for those who have very sensitive skin and experience irritation after shaving or waxing.

  • Smooth Soft Skin: With laser hair removal, there’s no stray hair or stubble left behind. Your skin will feel silky smooth after a session, and when it does eventually grow back, it’s thinner and softer than before.

Appointments: Most sessions require you to return every 4 weeks for the face and every 6 weeks for the body. However, the total number of sessions you require will depend on your hair and skin type.

  • 2. I have darker skin – can I still get this treatment done?

YES Venus Velocity Diode Laser can be used on darker skin tones, and tanned skin. IPL has a higher risk of discolouration (since darker skin has more pigment in it). If IPL is recommended the technician will perform a test spot and wait between 15 minutes to 48 hours, depending on your skin tone, to assess your reaction to the laser. He/she would know best what treatment parameters are most appropriate to use for your skin type.

  • 3. Are laser hair removal treatments painful?

During the procedure a very slight, momentary stinging sensation may be felt for a second, but not “painful”. The cooling tip significantly decreases discomfort.

  • 4. How many treatments are required?

The typical regimen is 6-8 treatment sessions, spaced 4-12 weeks apart, depending on the body area and laser used.

  • 5. Why are multiple treatments necessary?

About 20%-25% of human hair follicles on the body are in the growth phase at any g iven time. This is the percentage of hair follicles that can be destroyed in a single treatment session. In order to eliminate almost 70% of the hair, treatment has to be repeated until the desired result is achieved.

  • 6. Am I a good candidate for laser hair removal?

The best way to know if laser hair removal is right for you is to come in for a complimentary consultation with one of our Medical Laser technicians.

ILaser hair removal is for individuals who want to permanently reduce unwanted hair on their face or body through laser treatments because they’re tired of the conventional methods that only yield temporary results.

For safety reasons, you may not be able to get this treatment if you have/are:

    Previous problems with laser therapy

    A history of keloid scarring

Active infection or history of herpes simplex in the treatment area

Use of depilatories or other hair removal treatments, such as waxing, plucking, or electrolysis, within 6 weeks prior to treatment

Hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents

Use of oral Accutane within 6 weeks prior to.

  • 7. Can I do it during my lunch break?

Yes, Venus treatments are fast, even on larger areas like the back or two full legs. It’s also ideal for treating multiple areas, like the bikini area and underarms.

  • 8. Do I need to do anything to prepare for the treatment?

Make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup (if you’re getting a treatment on your face) before your session, and stop using any products that might irritate your skin 2-3 days before. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated. Shave the area 24hours before your treatment but leave a small patch. They will also ask about your medical history, so it helps to have that information ready.

After the Treatment

  • 1. How will I feel after my treatment?

You may feel like you have a slight sunburn around the treatment area, but this should go away after 1-2 days at the very most. You can use a cool compress to cool the area if need be. You may also see some hairs fall out more easily in the days following your treatment-this is perfectly normal. Some patients may also experience what appears to be a rash accompanied by some mild itching. This is also normal-it’ s just the skin’s response to the energy. The redness and itching will subside over a few days. Cool compresses or antibiotic ointment can help speed up the healing process.

  • 2. How long will the results last and are they permanent?

It depends on how your hair grows. Some people may see longer-lasting hair removal, while others who see sporadic hair growth in the area may need a touch-up treatment to maintain the results.

  • 3. Is there really no downtime?

There is no downtime. You can return to your daily schedule immediately after your treatment.

  • 4. Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

Be sure to gently clean the treated area twice a day and apply sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 before going outside; however, avoid excessive sun exposure. You should also steer clear of hot baths, massages, or any treatment that requires direct contact with the skin for the first 2 days after your treatment.

  • 5. If I got a treatment on my face, can I put makeup up on right after?

Yes, you can apply makeup immediately after your treatment, but make sure you put on sunscreen first.

It is essential that clients administer a strict regimen of sun protection as sun exposure can cause increased inflammation and pigmentation in treated area.

All treatments are performed with your privacy and well-being in mind at all times.
